Excellent experience overall including the service host food amenities etc. also the outdoor sports activities were excellent. The view from the resort is beautiful and amazing. The front office manager Mr Mayank was very helpful and an excellent host. The way he treats his guests is incomparable.

We ended up at the Holiday Inn the day after the huge earthquake and there are no words to describe our experience. We were terrified but immediately felt at ease as they welcomed us warmly into the resort. You could see by the lack of damage it is one of the strongest buildings around and facilities would be fabulous in “normal” times. Even after the earthquake the rooms and facilities were clean and the views were beautiful.Guests were provided with food, internet, running water and the most friendly staff. They put their own worries aside to make sure everyone felt safe. A buffet was put on for every meal despite the challenges faced with the lack of power and water. Internet was provided and the comfort of guests was their number one priority at all times. The managers, Rashmi and Rodney, were some of the most amazing people we have ever met. In the absolute toughest of times, when I’m sure they wanted to be with their family, they made sure they were always around to answer questions and make sure everyone was okay. Families are clearly a top priority for them, we had our 9 year old daughter with us and they treated her and the other kids with special care. Their patience was endless and they even managed to make everyone laugh at times. I would not have wanted to be anywhere else.. this felt like home and I can only imagine how wonderful it would be under normal circumstances.Thank you so much for everything you have done and we hope you all get some well-deserved rest!

Great resort for the off season, staff were super friendly, food was delicious and service fantastic. No request was off limits. Kids loved the themed rooms and pool facilities, free use of catamarans and kayaks + local sightseeing all fantastic. Highly recommended as a family vacation with kids. Blue lagoon, ziplining were highlights. Local restaurants not too far into town, resort breakfast buffet was great. Staff happy to book taxis and tours on demand. ATM onsite. Big thanks to the staff who helped my kids crack some coconuts 🥥

While this hotel has seen better days due to the severe damage from the back to back cyclones last year and changes in management (ex. Le Meridien, then Intercontinental), it was still a very welcoming and comfortable place to spend a few nights, with a wonderful view, and good F&B. The staff were exceptionally warm and helpful, especially Mayank and William at the front desk, Tom and Peter with facilities, and Shina with the lobby bar. I hope the renovations go well, and that the hotel can shine in its former glory soon enough.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Vanuatu, and I'd like to share my thoughts on the experience:Accommodation: The accommodation at the Holiday Inn Vanuatu was somewhat run down. While the rooms were clean, some areas of the property appeared to be in need of maintenance. Most of the room doors did not close properly, which was evident as you walked down the hallway and saw how many doors weren’t latched properly. However, I found my room comfortable enough for a pleasant stay.Food: The food at the hotel was average. While there were a variety of options available, I felt that the quality of the dishes could be improved. It was decent but didn't stand out as a culinary highlight of my stay. The buffet for the Melanesian night was somewhat disappointing for the cost (approx $57AUD pp). We had booked for the curry buffet a few nights later but cancelled after the disappointment from the first buffet night. Breakfast was great, however. Thoroughly enjoyed the options each morning.Staff: One of the standout aspects of my stay was the staff. The employees at the Holiday Inn were extremely friendly and helpful throughout my visit. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and assist with any questions or requests I had. Their warm and accommodating attitude significantly enhanced my overall experience. In summary, the Holiday Inn Vanuatu provided a decent stay with comfortable accommodation, although some areas of the property needed maintenance. The food was average, but the standout feature was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, who made my visit memorable.

We stayed in June for 2 weeks. The staff were awesome, and they always went above and beyond. We were always greeted in the morning, and my young son made a bestie called Will. The Buffet breakfast was great every morning a nice way to start the day. The pool was nice, the food was amazing, and the double cheese burger was 5 out of 5. If you have any issues with the room, tell them straight away, and they will try and fix it straight away.just a few things I would love to see, the holiday inn group give a little more funding to this place to expand the kids club and an outside playground for kids would be good maybe a update to the kids pool area,But otherwise, it's an awesome place cheers Dom

I stayed 7 nights with my daughter and loved it. The service was Impressive staff were genuine and very friendly but that's how it is in Vanuatu. My kettle leaked all over the floor no drama l had a brand new one in 15 minutes, was a little chilly no problem a spare blanket delivered to the room asap. Only two things l can nit pick about the drinks are very very expensive, and the live music is not every night and when it is it finishes at 9pm in my opinion that's a little early. Apart from that l recommend staying here whilst visiting this beautiful country

Worst Experience at IHG Vanuatu – A Tale of Favoritism and Neglect! If you’re looking for a hospitality experience that redefines bias and neglect, look no further than IHG Vanuatu! Our stay from December 16 to December 19 started off decent until an earthquake struck. While the hotel staff worked tirelessly to manage the crisis—kudos to them for their genuine effort—our real issue began with the hotel’s General Manager, Rashmi, who deserves a special mention for her stellar display of favoritism.Rashmi, who is of Indian heritage (like us), decided that her priorities lay elsewhere. While she showered other nationalities with hugs, reassurances, and endless chit-chat, we were treated like the invisible guests. Despite the fact that we expressed concerns about being left out of crucial updates to her in person—especially on how to get back home—she chose to ignore us entirely. Side-eye glances became her only acknowledgment of our existence. To make matters worse, we had our 1-year-old baby with us, but apparently, even that didn’t earn us an ounce of compassion. Forget a check-in to see if we were managing—why bother, right? After all, Rashmi was too busy playing host of the year to others. It’s baffling how someone in hospitality can operate with such blatant disregard for impartiality. The cherry on top? We had to contact our own authorities to sort out our evacuation because, clearly, Rashmi and her team couldn’t care less.Sure, you might find glowing reviews from others. But hey, they were the chosen ones! If you’re not a part of her preferred circle, good luck surviving on scraps of indifference. In conclusion, Rashmi, here’s a pro tip: Hospitality is not about hugging and consoling select guests while ignoring others. Try impartiality—it’s a great look for a General Manager.Thank you, IHG Vanuatu, for showing us the real meaning of “selective care.” Never again.Update on response:Dear Rashmi,Thank you for your response, though it reflects much of the behavior we experienced during our stay. Unfortunately, your dismissive and sarcastic tone aligns with the treatment we felt throughout. It’s clear that expecting fair and equal treatment was unrealistic in this case.Your reply avoids addressing the specific concerns of bias and favoritism, instead focusing on deflections like “confidential tasks.” To clarify, we never expected personal room visits or control over consulates—just basic respect and inclusion, which were noticeably absent. This feedback is not intended to attack but to serve as an opportunity for self-reflection. I urge you not to be defensive or sarcastic when addressing genuine concerns from guests. Leadership in hospitality should embody fairness, inclusivity, and empathy for all, regardless of background. We hope this helps in your future interactions and wish you the best in fostering a truly inclusive and respectful experience for all your guests.Sincerely,Saikiran Rudra

A wonderful resort, made extra special by all of the incredibly kind staff. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation, with the option to explore more of the island or simply chill by the pool/lagoon with stunning views. The breakfast buffet is great, and all the food at the lobby/restaurant was fantastic too. Lots of options and generous serving sizes so you get great value! We had the best trip and were so sad to leave. Special thank you to Greg for helping us organise all our excursions and always being so kind and welcoming. It was a great place to stay and we would definitely come back!

Food at hotel wasn’t very good at all. Rooms were very average at best. Air con hardly worked. Doors were broken. Some days hand towels or towels wouldn’t be replaced until asked. The only positive was some of the workers. Bar worker spilled half a cocktail then just topped it up with pineapple juice. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

This place is great for a family vacation. We wrestle there just after Christmas and my kids love it! The pool is really nice they have a kids activity room to keep kids busy while parents do other thing in the resort. The food in the restaurant is nice but they need more variety. Its a buffet so you can eat as much as you like. Kids eat for free so this is a plus! I will definitely recommend it.

Service, rooms, location were excellent. Food was excellent. Pools were great.Staff very well trained, happy, ever smiling and beautiful Vanuatu people. They would go out of their way to help you.Only shame was drink fridges were not cold enough and you couldn't swim in the beach lagoon due to pollution. Would recommend to stay.

Holiday Inn Vanuatu was a fantastic place to base our family for a week in Port Vila. The staff are incredible. Big commendation to William who organised many details of our stay including taxis for day trips and making sure we have all information needed to fully enjoy ourselves (I Stret Nomo). Mary and Lulu at Kids Club were so joyous and made our two girls feel like true Aelan Girls. It is important to note that the resort is undergoing extensive renovations due to damage sustained from two cyclones in 2023, and this has impacted half of the accommodation wings and the pool area until Christmas 2024.This aside, the team at Holiday Inn are working hard to make sure that customers are minimally impacted by these renovations. If you can't look past this critical upgrade, stay elsewhere. If you can manage your expectations and open yourself to connecting more with the people than the furniture, you will have an incredible time here. The food in Verandah Restaurant was consistent and fresh. Breakfast had a great variety (kids loved their breakfast donuts, but I hope they won't expect that when we get home). Book a table for the Curry and Fire night on Thursdays. The fire show by Holy Fires is enjoyable and wowed the crowd for nearly an hour!Rooms are more than adequate and we had zero issues with anything.Location is great, towards the top of Erakor Lagoon and a quick 5 min ride into Port Vila (1000vt flat rate each time for the taxi, whole group price).I do recommend staying here and hope that the essential renovations encourage more people to stay here in the future.

Holiday Inn was fantastic. Customer service was top notch. Mayank Kothari was the Front office manager and took care so our trip was so effortless. Such candid chats and it doesn't stop there. Jane who helped us at the travel desk was so insightful and gave us so many insider tips to ensure we had the best of Vanuatu and did not miss anything. Rosme and Chef Ram in the restaurant took care of our family so well. Food was impeccable. Was amazed at the spread for breakfast and was a great menu for kids too though they eat free. The SriLankan Chief Engineer who was always happy for a chat and ensured our stay was comfortable. David helped us when I was so nervous for kayaking, very gentle lad with great patience. Zwduemetrick is another great person at the restaurant who is always smiling and checking in. If I can remember all these names and write it out here then you can see how much effort the staff put in to ensure people staying there are comfortable.I have to also say, all staff seemed very happy and smiling at work and looked like they loved what they were doing. Some staff when we spoke to them also showed their hands towards their GM ( who we did not meet) but seems to be the reason for the great culture aka customer service.Food was great and reasonably priced. There is a casino within. Location is excellent very close to town centre( can hop on a bus) . Kids room was extraordinary, always have something planned to do. Well stocked bar. Mostly has some live music or performance in the evenings.Few okay sorts :- Rooms are a tad smaller - didn't bother us as we had 1 check-in luggage and a beautiful garden view- No lifts - again didn't both us but could be nice.

We have spent an amazing 9 nights at the Holiday Inn, Port Vila. The resort facilities are looking a little run down, but we hope to be back in 18months and see the golf course restored and the overwater bungalows back to their former glory. The pool area is great, small but functional gym, great pool bar and lagoon area. The food is good, great variety for breakfast and dinner meals were always delicious!Room air conditioning was amazing! Rooms are well appointed and very clean and comfortable! The TV reception wasn’t working while we were there but the wi-fi was more than sufficient for everyone! The lobby bar was great for an affair dinner drink or some great entertainment on Friday or Saturday evening! What made our stay was the amazing staff and their impeccable hospitality. From Peter at the outdoor activities desk, Emmanuel at the pool bar, Mary in house keeping, Paul at reception, Acqueline in the restaurant or Nola at the lobby bar, nothing is too hard! The staff will always go out of their way to make sure that you and everyone has what they need, they always make sure they welcome you warmly!Thank you for making our family trip spectacular.
